本剧基于Jeff Pearlman的书籍《Showtime Magic, Kareem, Riley, and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s》创作，聚焦1980年代的洛杉矶湖人队，讲述队员的职业生涯和个人生活，以及那些在球场内外帮助定义了一个时代的非凡人物。
